What Is Key Information?

This is information we must provide to potential clients to comply with consumer law.

Funding Arrangements

Positive Support accepts clients from all funding sources, provided the total fee payable meets the fee for the assessed need.

Key Features of Service

  • We are a supported living service catering to individuals with a learning disability and/or autism. We cannot cater for those requiring nursing or end of life care, or people who are living with dementia.

  • We support clients to live in their own homes, regardless of their current level of needs. Active support enables people with learning disabilities to develop new skills, access a wider range of opportunities and engage in activities alongside other people. This builds important relationships and social networks that are part of an ordinary life.

  • People we support usually rent a 2-bedroom property. This helps to facilitate 24 hour care.

  • Most team members work towards a BTEC Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Positive Behaviour Support as a minimum. Further support is available through a 24 hour on-call system and assistive technology.

  • The level of support each client receives depends on the assessment of individual care needs.

  • Positive Support is a new service and as such, we are yet to receive a CQC rating. Further information can be found on the CQC website.

  • Funding, charges and fees.
  • There is no minimum period for which clients must be self-funded.

  • Fee increases will be the same as the percentage increase in the National Living Wage rate compared to the previous year.

    • If there are changes to legislation or regulation which increases the cost of providing care, your fees may increase when reviewed

    • When fees increase, you must receive a written notice of 28 days before the change is implemented. During the notice period the price charged will remain at the previous rate. You are also entitled to give notice to change provider.

    • If your care needs increase and we are subject to higher costs, then your support fees must increase accordingly. Similarly, if your care needs reduce, fees must decrease accordingly. There must be a consultation with you and your representatives, and advanced written notice of at least 28 days must be given.

    • In the event of disputes: you can ask for an independent review of the price increase. We will engage with relevant independent professionals for their opinion on care and fees. Fee changes must not take effect until the consultation and notice period are over. The notice period must be paused until a relevant independent professional has given their opinion.

    • In case of rapid, unforeseeable decline in health: If you require significant extra care at short notice, we must provide reasonable notice of price increases (e.g. 7 days). As the increase in cost could be substantial, you must be offered the opportunity to be supported by an alternative organisation without penalty before the price increase occurs.

    • In cases where not providing additional care immediately would be harmful: We must give immediate notice of the fee increase to you and your representatives. We will liaise with relevant independent professionals to support the increase. You must be given the opportunity to change providers without penalty when the fee increase takes effect. We will not apply fee increases until any dispute is resolved. Where the fee increase is supported by independent assessment, and you do not change provider, increased fees must be backdated to the date on which extra care was provided.

  • There are no requirements for a guarantor.
